Dovetails feeling patriotic!- scruffy old pine desk transformed with Annie Sloan Graphite for the body. For the ‘flag’ I used Aubusson, Old White and Emperor’s Silk . Little bit of Copper Leaf trimming around the flag and Clear and Dark Wax to age. Masking tape for the edges.
On the ‘Flag’ I used a Dark Wax with Clear Wax to get a nice aged effect. With the Graphite I used Dark Wax straight on – no Clear! I think I’ve messed up the dimensions a little but, hey, it’s the first time I’ve done a Union Jack, don’t think it will be the last though! There’s a before pic at the end
This is fab. Did you do a base layer of old white and then masking tape it up once the old white was dry?
