Stencil work on a small cabinet

How cool is this? – French Linen with a white panel on the door.
This little cupboard was already painted white (quite badly) so it was easy to just go over the top with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint – no undercoat or prepping on this job.

I’ve used a combination of 2 stencils to make up the depth of the panel. The stencils are in French Linen and then slightly distressed when dry (which is no time at all with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!)
When I stencil, I try to keep the brush as dry as possible and work at it like a little woodpecker, slowly building up colour and depth. This way you get a really sharp image, if the brush is too wet, the paint will bleed under the edges. Take your time – it’s worth it!

A little light sanding all over to reveal the under colour and then Clear Waxed with a touch or two of Dark Wax. Voila, c’est chic!french linen stencil anchor la cave
